Artist Statement
I am a versatile artist deeply inspired by the profound beauty of the world; I am art personified. In my creative endeavors, I embrace the roles of connoisseur, curator, and the embodiment of the creative process itself, representing the essence of passion, vision, innovation, spontaneity, exploration, and liberation.
Though my artistic journey began with music, life serendipitously guided me to the world of photography, where I found my true calling. Today, I primarily focus on portraiture, seeking to capture authenticity and the intricate nuances of human connection. My work draws from a diverse range of artistic mediums, including illustration, installation, and digital design.
Central to my artistic evolution are mindfulness and the exploration of silence, which unlock a multidimensional exploration of experiences, emotions, subconscious thoughts, interpretations, and the enigmatic nature of time and reality.
In essence, my work invites viewers to explore storytelling by challenging perceptions, values, and influences. This commitment has shaped my artistic vision, aiming to interlace diverse mediums and perspectives to capture and communicate the profound authenticity of human experiences, embracing the boundless potential for artistic expression and self-discovery.
Moreover, my art reflects the profound impact of self-awareness. I allow my creations to unfold organically, revealing captivating narratives by immersing myself in the present moment. Recurring themes of interconnectedness and the exquisite nature of human existence consistently emerge, encapsulating the intricate threads that unite us all.
As a visual documentarian, my art beckons audiences to embrace the limitless horizons of artistic expression and embark on a profound journey of self-discovery. Ultimately, my aim is to seamlessly weave together a diverse spectrum of mediums and perspectives, capturing and conveying the profound authenticity of human experiences. I extend an invitation to viewers to explore new dimensions within themselves, guided by the principles of mindfulness, silence, and introspection.

What is your first memory creating?
My earliest memories of creating revolve around my time in the high school jazz band. As a percussionist, I found solace and freedom in improvising. The act of getting lost in the music allowed me to exist outside of my body, providing a sanctuary from the challenges of my tumultuous upbringing. Whether in the band room or on stage, it was a space where no harm could reach me, and I could be my favorite version of myself.
What is your relationship to your medium? What draws you to it?
I am a multidisciplinary artist, and my relationship with various artistic mediums—such as photography, illustration, and music—is deeply intertwined with my passion for authentic storytelling and meticulous attention to detail. One thing that many people don’t know is that I build my own sets and craft many of my props by hand, transforming ordinary spaces into scenic masterpieces for my photoshoots. This hands-on approach adds a layer of personal connection to my work, allowing me to infuse each element with intention and uniqueness.
Beyond this, I am driven by a profound desire to document. Through the lens of my camera, I capture not just images but stories—narratives that explore the intricacies of the human experience. These diverse forms of expression, coupled with my commitment to craftsmanship, create a seamless fusion that challenges the boundaries of both visual and performing arts. The power of these mediums, including the use of silence—which I utilize quite a bit in my photo sessions—enables me to explore movement, composition, and the essence of presence in a way that I feel is unmatched. The multidimensionality of my artistic journey draws me to continually push the limits of creativity and self-expression, bringing ordinary spaces to life in ways that not only captivate the imagination but also serve as a lasting documentation of the stories within them.
What is the main thing you hope your audience takes away from your art?
I aspire for my audience to embark on a transformative journey through my art, delving into the rich fabric of human existence. By challenging conventions and inviting introspection, I aim to foster connections and inspire personal growth. Through the fusion of mediums, I create a space where art transcends boundaries, igniting dialogue and resonating on a profound level. Ultimately, I hope my work sparks contemplation, reconnects viewers with their humanity, and emphasizes the shared experiences that unite us all.
Tell us about a challenge you overcame last year.
Last year proved to be the most challenging year of my artistic career. As I navigated a significant shift towards more corporate work for the sole purpose of financial stability, I found myself accepting projects that didn't align with my artistic vision. This left me feeling uneasy and incomplete. To compound matters, all my photography equipment was stolen from my supposedly secure storage facility. In an unexpected turn of events, an artist residency I had been awarded was rescinded, and the opportunity was given to another individual without my knowledge or consent. This residency was not just a creative opportunity but also tied to crucial aspects of my life, including housing, childcare, and income. Adding to these setbacks was the loss of a substantial 10-year government contract, a project I had already dedicated eight months of service to, without receiving compensation. The challenges of 2023 were disheartening, to say the least. I dealt with significant blows to my business, brand, passion, and confidence. Overcoming the disappointment and rejection proved incredibly difficult; however, I have remained resilient, refusing to let these setbacks define me or my art.
What is your main goal or resolution this year in terms of your art practice?
In the upcoming year, my primary goal is twofold: to gain and, equally importantly, to wholeheartedly accept public recognition for my artistic endeavors. This pursuit extends beyond the acknowledgment of my work by others; it is a journey of self-recognition, a process of acknowledging my own worth and deservingness of such acclaim. With unwavering commitment, I aim to solidify my presence within the artistic community. This involves actively seeking and seizing opportunities that allow me to showcase the depth and diversity of my multidimensional artistry. More than a quest for validation, this goal is about embracing the acknowledgment of my creative journey. By accepting public recognition, I intend to affirm the intrinsic value of my artistic contributions and their meaningful impact on both the local and broader artistic landscape. This journey of acceptance is not merely a personal milestone; it serves as a catalyst for the ongoing growth and influence of my work. As I actively embrace and internalize the recognition received, I anticipate a harmonious ripple effect within the artistic community, fostering a more expansive, interconnected, and mutually supportive environment.
