Polly Crane

Polly Crane is a 35-year-old single mother from Devon, UK. With a background in graphic design and fashion, Polly uses her time spent drawing to explore the role of women from a recognizable yet new perspective. The submitted series captures familiar moments from womanhood that reflect the continuing fight for physical and mental autonomy—whether at the hands of a stranger or those you love.

Mediums featured include pen and markers alongside an iPad vignette. All three showcase Polly’s predilection for a bird's-eye viewpoint, a perspective rooted in a lifetime of feeling otherness, disassociation, and depression.
