John Swofford
I graduated with an associate degree in art from Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia. I am an oil painter specializing in landscapes, portraits, and clothed figures.
I’m forty-five years old and I’ve done over three hundred paintings that I’m proud of. The more I paint, the more efficient I become, and although I lost over a decade to schizophrenia (and the qualified paintings I might’ve produced), I found the right combination of medicines that made it possible for me to paint with both patience and all of my attention.
Painting makes me feel that I am part of something greater than myself; I believe in a collective unconscious, and energies that exist in higher dimensions—driving us to love each other, and treat each other with kindness and respect.
