Linda Chido

Linda Chido is an American-born, Austin, TX-based artist who has carved her artistic path through the realms of fantastic realism and visionary art. Her work traverses various styles, encompassing figurative, surreal, and abstract elements. She most often employs an Old Master’s layering technique called Mischtechnik, which gives her paintings an inner luminosity and a high level of detail. Although Chido’s art is rooted in her personal narratives, her ultimate aspiration lies in crafting beautiful artworks capable of evoking powerful emotions that foster connections and engender conversations that transcend individual experiences.

Artist Statement

At the heart of the art I submitted is a soulful ode to the ethereal connection between music, the spirit, and the profound depths of human emotion. Inspired by my daughter, Mona Rae, who embodies the essence of musical brilliance.

Papillon, Morpho Musica, and Mona’s Hands invite the viewer into a realm where music and art intertwine, and an ascension from the mundane to the celestial occurs. Papillon whispers the secrets of transformation, Morpho Musica orchestrates a symphony of magic, while Mona’s Hands reverberate with the grace of a pianist's touch. Each painting pays homage to the transformative power of the musician, is a tribute to the boundless beauty of the human spirit, and a reminder of the divine creativity that flows through each of us.
