Artist Statement
My practice of Art (a term that is both meaningful and meaningless) has consistently diverged from immediate socio-political references. Rather than tethering my work to the transient zeitgeist, my focus has always been on the human condition, exploring the profound abyss of universal emotions and sensations. Consequently, my works often create an atmosphere steeped in introspection, inviting viewers to contemplate the timeless and intrinsic aspects of our shared humanity. They transcend the ephemeral nature of societal shifts, aiming to evoke a deeper, more enduring connection with the intricacies of the experience of Life.

What initially drew you to art?
My love affair with Art began long ago. Though I still don’t fully grasp the complex meaning of the term "Art," for me, it has always been intertwined with the way I perceive, experience, and internalize the world around me. I believe that the desire to translate and communicate the emotionally and cognitively preoccupying aspects of life was a pivotal moment that propelled me into the realm of creation, a domain that might, perhaps, be aptly named "Art."
What elements of your life have ended up becoming a part of your art?
I’ve never been drawn to capturing the transient zeitgeist in my work. Rather, my attention has consistently gravitated toward the inner landscape of emotions and aspirations—a realm that holds universal relevance, as it transcends the socio-political issues of the moment. In this regard, some of the most poignant and profound moments of my life have become integral parts of my artistic expression, aimed at creating a universal resonance with audiences who may share similar experiences.
What about your practice do you find the most fulfilling and/or energizing?
Maintaining complete independence, free from controlling and/or censoring financial structures, is immensely fulfilling to me. It allows me the freedom to diverge from today's culture of hyper-production and to preserve my own pace in the creative process.
Tell us about your experience getting to where you are now. What has been the most important thing you’ve learned?
At the risk of sounding arrogant or clichéd, heeding this inner voice (sometimes referred to as instinct or gut feeling) and recognizing the value of input stemming from seemingly random encounters has propelled me onto a highway of perpetual discovery. One of the most valuable lessons I've learned (and continue to learn) is to embrace often conflicting and contradictory ideas and opinions, as it is through these clashes that progress is born.
How has ‘community’ impacted your artistic practice?
The artistic community plays a vital role for anyone working in the field, providing both a platform for discussion and a means to challenge one's own perspectives and beliefs. Therefore, I believe it's crucial to remain connected with colleagues and to keep an open mind, attentively observing for new signals and insights.
