Danielle Biglin
Virginia-based artist Danielle Biglin has been painting for the last five years. She was a creative kid who loved art and wanted to be an artist, but life got busy, and her focus shifted to school, work, marriage, and kids. People would ask, “What do you do?” and she wanted to answer, “I’m an artist,” but she didn’t make art—she had no portfolio, nothing to show. Then she turned 40.
Danielle thought, I’m halfway through my life (if I’m lucky), and if I want to be an artist, I better start making art. She painted every day in 2019, and in December of that year, she had her first solo show. The show sold out, and Danielle was on her way. She continued to paint daily, started teaching evening art lessons in her home studio, and grew her social media following.
In 2022, Danielle left her full-time government job to become a full-time artist, and she couldn’t be happier.
Danielle works in oils and acrylics, and her paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia. Card games, cocktails, family vacations, picnics, and birthday parties are among her favorite subjects to paint. The cars, card games, and clothing are a nod to her childhood, growing up in the 80s in a large, close-knit family.
Born and raised in South Florida, Danielle recently moved to Richmond, Virginia, and is enjoying the seasons and exploring all that Richmond has to offer.
