Peggy Schutze Shearn

Peggy Shearn is a self-taught artist whose current series of paintings explores narrative and the odd visual world of dreams. She learned drawing and design through her work in graphic design and commercial illustration and later expanded her skill set by studying darkroom photography, calligraphy, and printmaking in her spare time. She helped found and now co-runs a not-for-profit art gallery in the Chicago suburbs. Shearn has shown her work in the Chicago area, including at AIR Gallery in Glencoe, The Evanston Art Center, Elmhurst College, The Art Center Highland Park, Mars Gallery in Chicago, and ARC Gallery in Chicago, among numerous other venues.
